So we are now almost 3 weeks into the school year. Lots of stuff going on. My students are still taking on-line test but soon we will start regular computer lab. Not sure how it all works but I'm figuring it out. So far Jim is loving his job and enjoying the students.

Last night we attended an Elkhart Central football game...it was fun and so nice outside.  I actually learned some things about football and Jim was very excited that we went.

Today we are making a trip to Ft. Wayne just to have some fun.  Yea for a long weekend!!!

Awana  starts up in a couple of weeks and we have lots to do to get ready.  Other than that life is pretty much the same.  Loving married life.

And He continues to bless

Wow a lot has happened in just a few days...craziness. Jim had another interview at Elkhart Central yesterday. And then early in the evening the called to say HE HAD THE JOB!!!  God is so good.  Jim is very excited and nervous but I know he'll do a wonderful job.  He is busy writing a syllabus and lesson plans etc.  He will be starting on Monday and school will officially start on Wed.

I had my first day at Battell...a tech meeting where I didn't understand a lot of what they were talking about.  But i guess I'll figure it out.  It was rather stressful but I'll get it eventually.  So yeah we are busy busy busy and working hard.  Thanks to everyone for all your prayers.

How God provides

Well I, Marisa, had an interview on Friday at Battell Elementary in Mishawaka.  The principal was so excited and offered me the job on the spot.  I couldn't believe it...it blew my mind.  So I am officially the techonology assistant.  I'm still very nervous about all my job responsibilities and I will have lots to learn but I'm excited.  I'll have students k-6 for computer lab throughout the week, help teachers with ideas to plug technology into the classroom and update the school webpage.  Just when i was about to give up hope, God drops this opportunity in my lap.  I'm still wrestling with my feelings of thankfulness and nervousness.  It is just amazing to see how God takes care of his children.

Continue to pray for Jim as he seeks a position.  And as he gears up for Awana...lots to do and many plans to make.

Things are looking up

Well it's been a good week.  I've actually had a couple of interviews and Jim has one next week with potential for another...so God is good and doors are still opening.  Just when i was about to give up I had a phone to come in for an interview.  Keep praying for us as we continue to settle in.

Oh in other news...Jim has agreed to be the Awana commander for our church.  I know he'll do a marvelous job and he is so excited about it.

Job Hunting

Does job hunting give you a headache?  Wow, so we've put in applications, sent out resumes, faxed resumes, called, stopped in.......Still have nothing for the fall.  Jim did have one interview at Elkhart but nothing came of that.  I had a kinda interview at a daycare this week. Still not sure what I think.  They are looking for a kindergarten teacher and it seems like I might have a good shot at the job but I don't know if that's where I want to be...I would love to do something with tutoring.  So anyway today i'll be filling out more applications and keep praying and trusting that something will come through.

Oh also, I know people care about us and they want to know but it's kinda depressing when everyone keeps asking about jobs and we always have to say no.  I mean we'll let you know if we find something and I'm sure it will spread around quickly.  Just a pet peeve of ours lately. I'm sure some of you reading this have or will experience this also.

Well...back to work for me.  Jim's out in the fields today as he has been for the past 10 days straight.
